Bean Beanland

Director for Growth & External Affairs , Heat Pump Federation

A graduate of Imperial College, Associate of the Royal College of Science, and founding member of the Heat Pump Federation (HPF).

Fifteen years of sector experience, including eight years with an installation contractor, in energy and carbon mitigation and in conceptual technology selection, procurement and the installation of mechanical services and renewable technologies.

Over this time, Bean has overseen the technology positioning, specification and delivery of a variety of heat pump systems, many supplying heat to Listed and period buildings, and to schools, rural estates and commercial buildings.

Since 2016, Bean has concentrated on sector representation, the advancement of the industry, supporting the development of government electrification policy, PDR revision, future funding & affordability, consumer protection and heat pump installer standards. He is responsible for the lobbying activities of the Federation, for growth in membership and for the HPF’s outreach programme providing CPD-style engagement of community groups and other built environment industry professionals.
